DENVER—Officials at Denver International Airport are telling the city council the cost of a terminal redevelopment project has risen by $44 million and could go higher.
Airport officials say the project, budgeted for $500 million, is now expected to reach $544 million.
The project includes a hotel and conference center and a public plaza that will include entertainment, culture and dining options for passengers.
According to the Denver Post ( ), officials are blaming the rising costs on a competitive market for builders and problems with poor soil conditions that have led to frustrations for the contractors.
