Denver police are asking the public’s help in identifying a man who assaulted a victim in a possible hate crime.
About 5 p.m. on March 29, a 43-year-old man was assaulted and threatened with a hand gun, at James A. Bible Park, South Tamarac Drive and Eastman Avenue, according to a Denver Crime Stoppers media release.
The assailant berated the victim with anti-Latino and anti-gay slurs, police said.
The suspect is described as a white man, about 40, 5-feet 11-inches tall with close-shaved hair and a tattoo with crossed swords on his forearm. At the time of the incident the assailant had been driving a white, new model Volvo sedan.
The victim told police there were several other people in the park who likely witnessed the incident.
