BOULDER, Colo.—A 38-year-old paraglider is recovering after crashing near Erie Municipal Airport east of Boulder.
Steve Pischke, deputy chief of Mountain View Fire Rescue, tells The Daily Camera ( ) that rescue crews were called to the area at about 12:30 p.m. Friday after the man fell about 20 to 30 feet. The man, whose name has not been released, injured his back and suffered a compound leg fracture just above the ankle.
He was airlifted to a Denver hospital.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash, which Pischke says involved an “experimental” motorized glider.
