DENVER—A snowstorm that was expected to dump heavy snow in eastern Colorado is arriving in bits and pieces.

National Weather Service Kyle Fredin said Tuesday high winds kicked up ahead of the snowstorm, and winter storm warnings are still up for the Front Range and blizzard warnings for areas of the Eastern Plains.

Fredin says the snow storm really has not come together as expected.

The National Weather Service says spotters reported two tornados Monday night near Akron in eastern Colorado. No injuries have been reported.

Denver airport officials said Tuesday the spring storm has prompted about 300 flight cancellations.

The Colorado Department of Transportation says U.S. Highway 6 is closed over Loveland Pass and Colorado Highway 71 from Brush to the Nebraska line.
