GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Authorities have made at least 25 arrests after a Mesa County grand jury indicted 36 people for allegedly running a western Colorado methamphetamine and cocaine ring.

The indictment, reported by the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel ( ) on Thursday, says the ring obtained the drugs from Mexico, California, Kansas and Nevada. It allegedly distributed them in areas ranging from Southern California to Georgia.

Several agencies, including the Western Colorado Drug Task Force and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, were rounding up alleged top members of the group.

The Grand Junction Police Department said Thursday that officers have made 25 arrests so far and seized 10 pounds of methamphetamine, 9 pounds of cocaine, $144,300 in U.S. currency, nine firearms and eight vehicles.

Mesa County’s standing 2013 grand jury returned the indictment on April 16.

Alleged leader Francisco Peralta-Cabral, 44, of Meeker, was arrested Tuesday and was being held on a $1 million, cash-only bond at the Mesa County Jail.

Peralta Cabral was charged with two counts of racketeering, two counts of possession with intent to distribute more than 1 kilogram of a controlled substance, distribution of a controlled substance and two counts of conspiracy.
