Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, a member of Russian feminist punk group, was denied parole by a court in the Russian republic of Mordovia, according to .
Tolokonnikova, along with fellow band members Maria Alyokhina and Ekaterina Samutsevich, were taken into custody in March 2012 following a protest at Moscow’s Christ the Savior Cathedral, Russia’s most well-known Orthodox Church.
All three members were sentenced to two years in prison in August, though Samutsevich’s sentence was later suspended.
