FORT COLLINS, Colo.—A bicyclist is fighting a $22 ticket he received from a Larimer County deputy for failing to move to the side of a road when the patrol car passed him.
Douglas Baker says he was complying with a new Colorado law that requires motorists to wait to pass if the road isn’t clear and to give cyclists a 3-foot berth.
According to the Fort Collins Coloradoan ( ), the sheriff’s office has launched an internal investigation after Baker said the deputy came dangerously close to hitting him.
