ASPEN, Colo.—A Colorado Parks and Wildlife officer has euthanized a bear that shattered a window of a home in the Aspen area.
The Aspen Times reports ( ) the bear was put down Thursday after breaking the window Tuesday.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife officer Kevin Wright says the homeowner hadn’t left any pet food outside that might have lured the bear.
Wildlife officers euthanize bears that are considered a nuisance to humans.
Aspen requires that discarded food and other items that can attract wildlife must be properly stored, but Wright says not everyone has been putting those items into bear-proof containers.
