An Adams County jury on Friday found a man guilty of murdering a woman in a motel room last July.
Michael Earl Smith, 29, was convicted of first-degree murder, first-degree felony murder and sexual assault in the death of a 34-year-old woman at the Valli-Hi Motel, according to a news release from the Adams and Broomfield County District Attorney.
Krista Ann Boma was found severely beaten and strangled to death in a room on July 12, 2012.
Smith was convicted of strangling Boma with his hands and a belt.
A jury found Smith not guilty on a robbery charge, the release states.
Smith will be sentenced Wednesday.
