Thornton police are searching for a man accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl.
Steve Allen Pierce, 35, allegedly assaulted the girl Sunday morning, according to a Wednesday news release from the police department.
The girl was first treated at North Suburban Medical Center but was later transported to Children’s Hospital Colorado because of the nature of her injuries.
Pierce is described as a white male, 5-feet 8-inches, 200 pounds with brown hair, blue eyes. He was last known to have a goatee and occasionally wears glasses, police said.
The suspect is currently at large and considered dangerous, police said. He is wanted for sexual assault on a child and sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.
Anyone with information on the location of Pierce is asked to call their local police.
