This spring buyers are roaring through available home sites at new home areas – and nowhere at a clip so fast as near the foothills in south Jefferson County, where builders had very few sites to begin with. “It’s such a great location for those who appreciate all that Colorado has to offer,” says Matt Mandino, Colorado Division president of KB Home, who has watched families sail through 107 of their 129 available lots at Bear Creek Meadows, off C470 at Quincy.
Today, KB Home’s team will show you their models, and the sites that are left, including some of the best they’ve yet released – ones that back to a greenbelt, or that can take a walkout level. Eleven are left along the greenbelt, but that number may have dwindled to ten by the time you get here. As I was touring this week, a FedEx was on its way from a buyer moving from Florida, intending to claim one of those. “We’re getting plenty of buyers from Denver, but also a surprising number from out of state,” Mandino adds. Another newly arrived contract was from Chicago, from a couple that already have jobs waiting around the area. “They bike, they ski, they’re active,” he said. “And that kind of family always appreciates how much quicker you can be up to the mountains from a location like this.” At Bear Creek Meadows, where prices on remaining opportunities are from the high $300s, those buyers have Jefferson County’s near-endless C-470 Bike Trail passing directly adjacent to the community – and are five minutes from the more serious trailheads into the foothills and mountain parks. Meanwhile, Bear Creek Meadows has 7-for-10-star-rated Kendallvue Elementary linked directly by trail; a park set to open inside the neighborhood itself; and is within biking range of popular eateries like Morrison Inn and Red Rocks Grill in Morrison. The three models you’ll tour at Bear Creek Meadows include a chance to see the ‘ZeroHouse 2.0’ ranch, designed by KB Home to use absolutely no energy at all. It shows just how energy efficient you could be, using KB Home’s Energy Star package as a starting point, and then adding some of the energy-related options that KB Home makes available as part of its ‘Built-to-Order’ options – including solar electric panels (several families are already showing those). Right now, KB Home still has home sites where you could pick a plan and a greenbelt lot from the $380s.
