GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo.—A 52-year-old woman accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the Garfield County Clerk and Recorders’ office has pleaded guilty to theft.
The Post Independent reports ( ) Brenda Caywood entered her plea Thursday and is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 1.
Prosecutors say she stole nearly $16,000 in connection with vehicle-related transactions between the public and the clerk’s office, where she had worked since 2007. She was accused of stealing from the office on 58 separate occasions, starting in May 2010 and continuing until early November 2011.
Caywood resigned in November 2011.
