Three people, including a police officer, were injured Wednesday morning in a traffic accident in southwest Denver.
The officer was in a marked patrol car, with flashing lights and siren on, about 8:40 a.m. heading north on South Federal Boulevard to a reported injury accident, said Sonny Jackson, a Denver Police Department spokesman.
As the patrol car went through the intersection at West Mississippi Avenue a car failed to yield and hit the police car broadside, Jackson said.
The officer and two people from the car were taken to a local hospital to be treated and evaluated for non-serious injuries, Jackson said.
The driver of the car will likely be cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, Jackson said.
