MANCOS, Colo.—A search of cliffs and trails has failed to turn up any sign of a Texas man missing since Sunday in Mesa Verde National Park.

Park spokeswoman Betty Lieurance said Thursday rescuers are continuing to search canyons and trails for 51-year-old Mitchell Stehling of Goliad, Texas.

Stehling was reported missing by relatives, who are at the park awaiting word.

The park contains more than 4,000 known archaeological sites, including cliff dwellings, which are elaborate stone villages that the Ancestral Puebloans built in sheltered alcoves of canyon walls. The ruins are about 40 miles west of Durango.
