4) Jazz Aspen Snowmass June Festival — Friday-Sunday, $70-$90



Do you really need an excuse to go to Aspen, the most glamourous of all mountain towns? If you do, here’s the best excuse: a three day music celebration. Starting Friday, the June Festival brings , and . Sure not quite jazz, but still three more than accomplished acts, who are known to put on a solid live show.
3) Camera Obscura — Thursday, the Gothic Theatre, $20-$25
Thanks to the band’s name — like a cinema history lesson —, listening to Camera Obscura is like living someone else’s flashback. Hazy around the edges, but with highly specific lyrics in the center, the band projects memories, emotions, stories through highly accessible indie-pop. With five albums to its name, Camera Obscura has had more than a decade to perfect its charming and downright pleasant live performance. Catch them at the Gothic Theatre on Thursday.
2) Torres, Lady Lamb the Beekeeper — Sunday, Hi-Dive, $10
The lineup at the Hi-Dive on Sunday is one of intimacy. and are two indie singer-songwriters who engulf the listener both lyrically and through heavy, sonic twists on traditional folk. On Torres’ “Honey,” she sings, “Honey, while you were ashing in your coffee, I was thinking of telling you what you’ve done to me.” At first it sounds like a confession over some gentle guitar picking, until it builds into a fuzzed-out wail. The opener, Lady Lamb the Beekeeper, is an artist cut from the same cloth, building moods and atmospheres that are both beautiful and painful. (Tickets, $10, hi-dive.com)
1) Westword Music Showcase — Saturday, $30-$100
The intention of ’s Song Reader — a collection of songs released only as sheet music — was for fans to interpret and perform the material. So if sight reading music or recruiting musicians to perform isn’t your thing, you should see some of Denver’s best do it. On Saturday, local musicians , and members of will perform the material with the as part of the Westword Music Showcase. This one-time show is for Beck fans and local music aficionados. The festival includes 50-plus other local and national acts. (Tickets, $30-$100, ticketfly.com)
