List of canceled Colorado fireworks shows growing
Colo. Springs, Fort Carson, Kiowa among those canceling, postponing July 4th firework
DENVER (AP)—The list of Colorado communities canceling their July Fourth fireworks shows because of extreme wildfire conditions is growing.
So far, the list of cancellations includes Colorado Springs, Fremont County, Highlands Ranch, Kiowa and Monument. Fort Carson is also postponing its annual Independence Day celebration.
Last year, Gov. John Hickenlooper banned private fireworks statewide after dry conditions fueled major wildfires.
