DENVER—A grand jury is considering the case of a driver accused of striking a family as they left a July 4 fireworks show at Grand Lake, killing one person and injuring four others.

KCNC-TV in Denver reports () that in court Tuesday, it was announced that a grand jury will determine what charges, if any, should be filed against Lucas Ackerman. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after the crash.

State troopers have said 50-year-old Greg Westley was killed after he was struck by a pickup truck along U.S. 34.

Westley’s wife and three of their children were flown to hospitals with injuries. Their five other children weren’t hurt.

Ackerman remains jailed on a $40,000 bond.
