
A brief but heavy storm hit metro Denver just after lunch Monday.
At 12:22 the National Weather Service issued a for the area, warning that the possibility of isolated street flooding would be a factor until about 1:30 p.m.
About 12:30 p.m. rain and delays of some arrivals. Three flights were diverted because of the the weather.
About 1.4 inches of rain was measured near Colfax and Sand Creek, and nearly an inch was measured at Buckley Air Force Base. The heaviest rainfall was between Aurora and Centennial. Aurora Town Hall got 1.73 inches of rain in 90 minutes, the weather service reported.
By 1:41 p.m. the storms had weakened and moved on.
There was a in effect in Denver, western Adams County and western Arapahoe County until 2:30 p.m. The weather service warned that heavy rain could result in minor flooding in areas with poor drainage.
