Frontier Airlines requested and was granted a five-year extension on its lease at Trenton Mercer Airport just six months after it began its .
The Denver-based carrier opened operations at Trenton in November and currently services 10 point-to-point destinations from the airport.
The carrier said it was focusing on Trenton Mercer as a way to get a foothold in the East Coast market without being choked out by its competitors at the larger hubs.
Frontier’s parent company, Republic Airways, has repeatedly made it clear that sometime this summer.
