Getting your player ready...
BackCountry, the near-final chapter in Highlands Ranch’s hugely successful development, is a luxurious gated enclave that lures plenty of buyers from out-of-state, wanting authentic Colorado views and the chance to make friends rapidly. But Emily Amaral, who’ll show you Shea Homes’ lavishly-appointed Water Dance models there, is also seeing plenty of local purchasers who are picking it over denser communities north and east of Highlands Ranch, where they can find upscale homes, but nothing close to BackCountry’s views and amenities.
“We attract families who want the wide-open feel and the carefree experience that kids have exploring BackCountry,” Amaral says. “You’ll see kids on their own, biking on the trails, exploring the parks, headed for Sundial House and the pool, or crawdad fishing at the pond.” Water Dance’s models are just beyond BackCountry’s entry gate – a block west of BackCountry’s Discovery Center where you’ll be given a gate pass and a pass to get inside the incredible Sundial House private retreat and grotto-styled resort pool, poised beside 467-acre South Rim Open Space. “In spite of the open space, our home sites work well with urban tastes – luxurious, but not requiring huge maintenance,” adds Amaral, who’ll be there with Donovan Reifinger today. You can check out the schools (8-to-10 stars at GreatSchools.org) and experience the sense of ‘community’ residents find as appealing as the views. Just as in some ‘new-urban’ areas, Sundial House has a full-time activities coordinator, and hosts movie nights and concerts in its amphitheater. You’ll tour Water Dance’s Serenity Star model, over 3,500 feet, plus 3-car garage and huge outdoor living spaces. If you like what you see, Amaral and Reifinger can show you a version of the same home that’s on track for late this year, on a choice walkout site, priced at $811,000. That’s just one of a handful of homes in Water Dance moving ahead for buyers that want to be in BackCountry soon (one can deliver in October). And you’ll see three newly released home sites (there were six, but three others disappeared immediately) for those who want to get the best of Shea’s design options with a semi-custom home experience – including a chance to finish the basement upfront. Of course, you’ll see the trailheads into BackCountry’s private open space, along with Sundial House’s popular Pikes Pub bar, the spa treatment rooms, and demo kitchen.BackCountry is an easy commute to Sky Ridge and Swedish medical centers; closer still to new Children’s Hospital arriving nearby; and minutes from DTC and Inverness.
