GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Republican state Sen. Steve King plans to run for Mesa County sheriff.
The lawmaker is in the third year of his first four-year term in the Colorado Senate. He said Thursday he is entering the race for sheriff.
According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel ( ), King hopes to replace Sheriff Stan Hilkey, who is term-limited.
