On August 12, hundreds of classes will start at Emily Griffith Technical College (EGTC), where more than 50 certificate programs provide hands-on career training that puts people to work. The college offers the least expensive college tuition credit rate in Colorado. Scholarships and financial aid are available for eligible students – you can graduate debt-free!
Classes are still open in the Colleges of Business and Technology, Design, Health Sciences, and Trades and Industry. The Continuing Education Division hosts a variety of non-credit classes plus hundreds of online classes that start every month. Since 1916, EGTC has been located in downtown Denver just a few blocks from bus and rail lines. The combination of small class sizes, free tutoring and career guidance has resulted in some of the highest certificate program completion and job placement rates in the state. Colorado’s oldest and largest English as a Second Language Program is hosted by EGTC, with nearly 40 ESL classes every year. All foreign-language speakers are welcome and pay the same tuition. Nine-week courses start at $67 with intensive classes starting at $162 and evening classes for only $132. EGTC is also one of the state’s largest General Educational Development (GED) preparation and testing sites. The current version of the GED test will expire at the end of 2013. Those who have not passed all five parts have until the end of 2013 to pass or they will need to start over again in 2014 to receive their high school credential. Finish your GED in 2013!EGTC serves approximately 8,000 students each year and has assisted more than 1.6 million students go from learning to earning in less than one year.
