Denver-based . announced Tuesday that its fleet of 368 medical helicopters is now fully outfitted with night-vision-goggle capability.
Installing and requiring that pilots use night-vision-imaging systems for visual-flight-rules operations at night was an item included in the 2009 National Transportation Safety Board recommendations to public Helicopter Emergency Medical Service operators, according to the company.
Night-vision-goggle capability enhances visibility during night medical transportation that allows crews to better detect hazards and obstructions, said the company.
