Through Sept. 29. Mary Fischer’s ceramic pieces live somewhere between art and architecture. Her small objects take the shape of the barns, granaries and water towers of America’s rural landscape where she grew up. A former U.S. Air Force intelligence officer, Fisher makes her pieces mostly from slabs or extruded bits of clay, which she assembles as if “playing with Legos. The more pieces there are to play with, the more ideas there are to explore,” she tells Plinth Gallery, where an exhibit of her work, “The Architecture of Space,” is on display. She’s a Texan, but some folks may recognize her as a regular at the annual Cherry Creek Arts Festival. 3520 Brighton Blvd. 303-295-0717 or . Free. Ray Mark Rinaldi
