The combination of producers Gramatik and Griz, aptly called Grizmatik, provides the perfect cocktail of electronic macho-ness. Both have been to Colorado twice this year, to SnowBall and Global Dance Festival, but this will be the duo’s first headlining date: at the 1stBank Center. “An acoustic evening” with Ben Harper in the classical confines of the Ellie Caulkins Opera House on Nov. 8. Sure it’ll be mellow, but also pretty, with musician who can handle a spectrum of instruments including lap steel, keyboards, piano, drums and of course roots/gospel/R&B vocals. Toro y Moi‘s Colorado three-peat lands the musician/producer at his biggest headlining spot in the state yet. Having already headlined the Bluebird Theater and opened for Thievery Corporation at Red Rocks, his show at the larger Ogden Theatre on Nov. 6 marks his third and largest show in the state this year. Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. ($20.75, )
Crazed bass virtuoso Les Claypool returns to Colorado on Oct. 11 to the Gothic Theatre. This time he’s touring with his Duo de Twang, rather than his better-known band Primus. The schedule includes two more Colorado stops at the Fox Theatre in Boulder on Oct. 10 and the Aggie Theatre in Fort Collins on Oct. 12. Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. ($32.50, )
Australian electronic duo Empire of the Sun brings frilly, feathery, space costumes back to Colorado on Oct. 29. As part of the act’s North American tour, it will perform at the Ogden Theatre with fellow Australian synth-pop band Alpine. Empire of the Sun last performed in Colorado at 2011’s Global Dance Festival. Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. ($35, )
Having recently entered a partnership with local promoter Soda Jerk Presents, the RiNo venue Exdo Event Center will play host to another concert this year. Christian pop-metal band the Devil Wears Prada (not to be confused with the film or novel) plays the event center on Nov. 24. Tickets are on sale now. ($20, )
