Fog covered widespread areas along the Front Range on Thursday morning and the airport reported delays.
“Fog has rolled back in creating low visibility and arrival delays” of up to 40 minutes, about 7:25 a.m.
About 11:30 the airport reported “we are back to normal operations.”
The National Weather Service reports that low clouds and areas of light fog will linger through the mid-morning in the metro area and on the eastern plains.
“There will be patchy dense fog in locations south and east of Denver,” the weather service said. “Including Denver International Airport. Visibilities will be reduced to below a quarter mile in spots.”
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop in northeastern Colorado Thursday afternoon and then diminish in the evening.
There could be periods of heavy rain, with small hail and gusty winds, with some of the thunderstorms.
In Denver, there’s a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., the weather service reports. Skies will be mostly cloudy and the high temperature will be about 78 degrees.
