Slow Food fans, it’s time for a road trip to Paonia. What makes a farm-to-table event even better? Lots of wine, of course. What else? Movies about food and wine! That’s why the Food Farm Film Wine Festival is still going strong, and Friday-Aug. 18 will see its fifth year of celebrating the amazing convergence of soil, sun and savvy in the North Fork Valley that results in such an abundance of great fruits and other produce. Join local chefs for tastings and wine dinners, tour the farms and wineries, and watch the documentary “Dirt! The Movie,” among other offerings, plus live music. Add a stay at one of the area inns — sponsor s is booked already, but there’s always the Western-themed Rocky Mountain Inn, (304 Niagara Ave., 970-527-6181, ) with its efficiency kitchens — and now we’re talking real getaway. Cost for the whole weekend of events is $175 per person; individual event tickets start at $35.
