Deputies found a woman’s body in an apartment Wednesday night after a man allegedly told a resident he had “just killed someone.”

The woman was identified Thursday afternoon as 39-year-old Katrina Pacheco.

Arapahoe County Sheriff’s deputies went to the 14400 block of East Fremont Avenue about 10:30 p.m. after a resident called 911.

Deputies found a man, later identified as Arthur William Price, 28, in a parking lot and detained him. Pacheco’s body was found in a nearby apartment.

Investigators have no information that anyone else was involved in the incident.

Price was booked into the Arapahoe County Detention Facility on charges of first-degree murder, second-degree assault, violation of a protection order, obstructing government operations and harassment.

He is being held without bail.

Price has an extensive arrest record in the state, according to Colorado Bureau of Investigation and court records.

In February, Price was arrested in Arapahoe County on suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs and resisting arrest. A failure to appear charge was amended to the case in May. He was arrested and appeared in court in June. He has a disposition hearing scheduled in October.

In 2011, Price was found guilty of misdemeanor assault in Jefferson County and was sentenced to 90 days in jail.

Also in 2011, Price was found guilty of violating a court protection order, a misdemeanor from 2010. He was sentenced to 180 days in that case.

Price was sentenced in 2008 to a year in the Colorado Department of Corrections for escape from a fugitive hold.
