BOULDER — The city’s iconic Polar Plunge has been left out in the cold by its organizer.
The Young Professionals Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado has cut ties with the annual New Year’s Day event — which celebrated its 30th anniversary this year — in order to pursue more lucrative fundraising events.
Funds raised by the frigid function fell short of what the young professionals group raised at another event, a Blondes vs. Brunettes women’s flag-football game, said Sara Spaulding, spokeswoman for the Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado.
