Parry Burnap is resigning as executive director of Denver Bike Sharing.
Burnap said she is leaving to pursue “her passion for advancing sustainable design and practices around environmental and transportation-related systems.”
Burnap was instrumental in creating, managing and growing Denver B-cycle over the past five years, since the idea of bike sharing for Denver was first conceived during the 2008 Democratic National Convention.
“I am very proud and pleased about the terrific success we have enjoyed in Denver as the country’s first bike-sharing program,” Burnap said.
“I owe a large part of our success to wonderfully generous supporters and sponsors, as well as an extremely talented, dedicated and hard-working staff at Denver Bike Sharing.”
Nick Bohnenkamp, who has been serving as deputy director, was named interim executive director.
