Thousands of charities across the country will benefit from Macy’s annual Shop for A Cause promotion Saturday. Non-profits that have registered with the retailer are selling $5 shopping passes, which give customers discounts of 25 percent off regular, sale and clearance merchandise and 10 percent off watches, furniture, mattresses and area rugs sold at Macy’s stores Saturday. The participating charities keep the full $5 to use for their programs. and are selling the passes until Saturday. The passes also can be purchased in the store, but all proceeds from those sales will go to March of Dimes. Online passes are available on the website, macys.com/shopforacause
