FORT CARSON, Colo.—A Colorado Springs nightclub has become the 38th location declared off limits for Army personnel after a Fort Carson soldier was shot and killed outside the club last weekend.
Fort Carson put the Circa Nightclub on its list after Deangelo Brown, 22, of Jacksonville, Fla., was slain early Sunday, KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs reported Wednesday ( ).
Brown served in the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, and was a food service specialist.
There have been no arrests in the shooting.
Army Maj. Earl Brown didn’t detail why the club, owned by Alma Patrick, was declared off-limits. The list of 38 establishments applies to all military installations in southern Colorado. It includes 26 rental properties owned by Patrick, six “head shops,” three massage and spa parlors, two bars and one hookah bar.
Brown did say Patrick—and other businesses—can contest inclusion on the list.
“They don’t get removed from the list if they don’t come argue their case,” Brown said.
