has finally come clean. The Canadian indie-rock band has revealed its ties to the elusive graffiti campaign that has been popping up in various cities across the world. A new banner hanging on a building near the corner of Lafayette and Grand in Manhattan connects the band’s name with the graffiti for the first time, advertising an ambiguous event scheduled to happen at 9 p.m. on Sept. 9. Arcade Fire

The banner has “REFLEKTOR” written in diamonds and letters, which is also the rumored title of the new album.

Itap the hottest clue in a storm of speculation about the band’s upcoming album, which is anticipated for Oct. 29. While the band has remained hush-hush about the project, producer and former LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy has been tantalizing fans all summer, promising an amazing album from the indie-turned mainstream Canadian group.

In addition to the elusive graffiti, an has been created to share multiple shots of the street art, as well as a video of an unknown artist writing the words with Arcade Fire-esque music playing in the background.

“I think it’s going to be a really great record, actually,” Murphy . “I’m eager to see it come out.”

Recently, Arcade Fire has performed a few new songs in its live sets. But as for an upcoming tour, the band has only released 2014 live dates in Austrailia and New Zealand, keeping fans in the U.S. and Denver in the dark until further notice.
