DENVER—The state purchasing director is upholding a decision to award Gtech Corp. a contract to provide services to the Colorado Lottery.
A competing vendor, Scientific Games International Inc., appealed after learning in June that Gtech had won the $62 million contract. SGI argued that the committee evaluating bids deviated from publicly stated criteria and made other errors before awarding the contract.
In a letter Tuesday, state purchasing director Judson Byrn rejected SGI’s arguments and said the committee’s evaluation wasn’t arbitrary, unreasonable or inconsistent. The letter was publicly released Wednesday.
A lawyer for SGI didn’t immediately return an email late Wednesday seeking comment.
