One thousand volunteers are needed for the third annual Xcel Energy Day of Service Sept. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon. Xcel Energy and television station KCNC (CBS4) have partnered for this annual initiative and are looking for your help on nine projects including trail repair, planting, seeding and river restoration. Participating cities include Boulder, Breckenridge, Denver, Erie, Evergreen, Greeley, Highlands Ranch and Westcreek. Details and registration at
