Public pools are closing to humans but setting dates when canine swimmers, accompanied by their owners, can get in on the fun. Here are a few. Many will require current rabies and/or ID tags, so bring those collars.

Monday Sept. 2 at LaMont Does Outdoor Pool, 500 S. Boulder Road in 4 to 6 p.m.; $5 per dog; cityoflafayette.com

Sept. 7 at Pirates Cove Aquatic Park and Belleview Park, 1225 W. Belleview Ave. 8 a.m.-3 p.m.; $15 per dog to swim. at freedomservicedogs.org. It’s a daylong benefit for the service-dog organization, and there are related demos, competitions and a family festival (which is free).

Also Sept. 7: from Parker Parks and Rec, at O’Brien Park, 10795 Victorian Drive, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. There’ll be pool dips and a temporary dog park. $6 per dog for Parker residents, $8 for nonresidents; preregister at ParkerRec.com for a goodie bag.

Sept. 16-29 at Scott Carpenter Pool, 1505 30th St. in Boulder. $5 per dog, per session, or $35 for unlimited swim for up to two dogs during There’s also a Dog Expo on Sept. 21. Hours and rules at boulderparks-rec.org.
