One-way street to shopping fun

The fourth season of Sundays on the Streets Outdoor Market wraps up Sept. 8. This final outing includes the popular Kids Mart. Stop by from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for handcrafted items from young entrepreneurs including elementary- and middle-school-aged children. Shoppers will also find the traditional high-quality works of local vendors offering original, artistic, handcrafted wares. And there’s a great selection of food trucks.

Recreation celebration

South Suburban Parks and Recreation is offering various deals on punch cards for recreation center admission, discounts on personal and group training packages as well as facials and massages in September. Those who purchase a 30- punch card will receive five free punches, and those who buy a 15-punch card will receive two free punches. Punch-card admission includes access to all facility amenities, including drop-in fitness classes. More details at

The Friends of the Arapahoe Library District hosts its annual Used Book Sale offering more than 45,000 hand-sorted books, audiobooks, CDs and DVDs for all ages. Hours are 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 5, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 6-7 and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 8. Be sure and stop by the “Better Book Section” featuring pop-up children’s books, art books, collectible comics and books signed by the author. Sept. 8 is bag day where shoppers fill a provided bag for $6. A special Preview Sale for Friends of the Library is 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 4. Memberships will be available at the door. Five-star bazaar

Eron Johnson Antiques hosts the second annual Valverde Bazaar Urban Outdoor Market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 7. The Pop-Up Market offers works by local businesses and artists including gifts, antiques, ceramics, rugs, art, furniture, jewelry, garden items and more. Food and live music add to the festivities.
