Police are asking the public’s help in identifying a man who tried to abduct three boys in Denver over the weekend.

The incidents began about 7:20 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Krameria Street when a boy, riding his scooter home from nearby Crestmoor Park, was followed by a man in a van.

The man yelled at the boy to get in his vehicle, police said, but the boy was able to make it safely home.

A short time later, in the same area, the driver of the van encountered two other boys and instructed them to get into the vehicle.

The boys ran into a garage and watched the man get out of the van and run up the driveway toward them before they were able to close the garage door.

The man drove away and the boys called their father and then the police.

Police describe the man’s vehicle as a gray, or silver, shiny mini-van, possibly a Dodge Caravan. The van has two stickers on the back, one with black and white lettering, and a Colorado specialized license plate with blue lettering.

Police said the man is between the ages of 30 to 40, about 5-feet 9-inches tall and heavy set, with short, black hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt the day of the incidents.

Any officer with information on the case, or on a possible suspect, is asked to call Det. Jami Sisneros at 720 641-0652.
