• Wells Fargo & Co. will contribute a total of $13,000 to four local nonprofit organizations to honor the volunteer efforts of four Colorado team members. Those selected for the donations are: Two Angels Foundation Inc., $10,000, on behalf of Kim Willis; Children’s Hospital Colorado, $1,000, on behalf of Donna Boyette; Williams Syndrome Association, $1,000, on behalf of Lisa Castilleja; and Pikes Peak United Way Success by 6, $1,000, on behalf of David Kowalski.
• The Lefthand Fire Protection District in Boulder County received $27,600 worth of funding for a new heart monitor, from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
• United Launch Alliance recently provided backpacks and school supplies for low-income and homeless children in Denver Public Schools.
• Office Depot Foundation last month donated 3,000 new sackpacks containing school supplies to kids served by nonprofit organizations, schools and agencies in the Denver area.
• Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ partners recently collaborated on another successful round of retail fundraising campaigns to benefit Children’s Hospital Colorado. For the second consecutive year, Walmart and Sam’s Club surpassed the $1 million mark, while Costco Warehouse raised nearly $400,000 locally. In addition, the Ali Meyer Foundation raised $24,000 from an annual golf tournament, and the 10th annual Wine Event presented by Phipps McCarthy raised more than $244,000 for the hospital.
