Interview with Carolyn Woods, owner
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: I have always worked in jobs that involved the public and providing good customer service. I got involved in this business by doing purse parties in my home part time. Then I started attending the buying markets in New York and other major cities and liked the possibilities of bringing the latest fashion trends to the Denver area. I have always loved shopping in boutiques, and what better way for me to share this experience with others.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: Winston’s Boutique has the motto “Unique Couture Design” and this has been our goal, to provide the customer with merchandise they cannot find in a department store or franchise store. Provide something they won’t find on every other woman.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: The thing I like best about owning my own store is meeting and visiting with the customers and providing them with the best customer service. Also having the customer leave with great satisfaction.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: My biggest challenge is not building a broad customer base, but nurturing a passionate customer base.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: Customers will be surprised at the low prices for the quality of merchandise we carry. We have merchandise from Europe, New York, Canada and Los Angeles, just to mention a few places.
