Cinema celebration
As part of a nationwide celebration, through Sept. 26, Harkins Northfield 18 (8300 E. Northfield Blvd. in Denver) offers free daily screenings of the films “42” and “The Croods.” Tickets to either movie are available in person at the box office on the day of showing, while supplies last. Limit of two tickets per person per show. As a bonus, patrons receive a free drink upgrade to the next largest size, as well as free refills on same-day drink purchases. Check the website for show times.
Flippin’ free
Butter up your friends and family with this promo from Perkins Restaurant & Bakery. On National Pancake Day, Sept. 26, the eatery is sharing a short stack of its made-with-real-eggs-and-buttermilk pancakes for free. The freebie flapjacks are available all day. To turn this sweet deal into a sweet deed, after dining you can make a donation to help grant wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses through Give Kids The World. However, it’s not required. There are four Perkins locations in the metro area — Denver, Golden and two in Westminster.
Each Monday, Laura & Bryan at compile “Cheap Checklist” to help cheapskates find deals, discounts and freebies. Know of a deal? E-mail info@milehighonthecheap.com 10 to 14 days in advance.
