DENVER—Westminster police say a school bus driver accused of sideswiping a vehicle while transporting a freshman football team from a game has been charged with DUI.

The Denver Post reports ( ) 57-year-old Burton Carpenter was taking members of the Mountain Range High School team from a game at Prairie View High School when the bus hit the vehicle Saturday. Carpenter also faces charges of child abuse, posing threat or injury to a child and reckless endangerment.

Authorities say 37 students and four adults were aboard the bus when Carpenter hit the vehicle in a parking lot, causing minor damage.

No injuries were reported.
