GOLDEN, Colo.—A worker helping make repairs after massive flooding in Colorado was killed Wednesday when his dump truck rolled over him.

The Denver Post reports that the unnamed man was working to repair railroad tracks damaged by flooding in Jefferson County, west of Denver ().

The incident happened about 1:30 p.m. when the worker got out of his truck to check on a mechanical issue and was run over. Trooper Nate Reid of the Colorado State Patrol said the man died at the scene.

The man worked for a company contracted through the railroad to repair washed-out tracks caused by the recent massive flooding.

Reid said the area will be closed while the investigation is conducted.
