Apple Days in Durango
The sixth annual Home Grown Apple Days takes place in Durango on Oct. 6. From 11 a.m.-4 p.m., this free festival in Buckley Park includes local food and apples, a pie-eating contest, kids activities, freshly pressed juice and more.
Hunter’s Ball and dinner
Lake City’s Hunter’s Ball and Community Dinner is Oct. 10. Held every year on the Thursday before the first rifle hunting season in Colorado, the Lake City/Hinsdale County Chamber of Commerce hosts an evening that features dinner, raffles and door prizes.
Elizabeth Harvest Festival
The annual Harvest Festival in Elizabeth is Oct. 26 from noon-3 p.m. The family-friendly event takes place on Main Street and includes hay and pony rides, games, pumpkins, trick-or-treating and more.
Good hauntings in Ouray
Ouray’s Halloween Ball at the Haunted Hotel is Oct. 26 from 8 p.m.-midnight at the Historic Beaumont Hotel. For a $5, guests can participate in a séance, explore the hotel with ghost hunters, receive a tarot-card reading and dance to a DJ. Costumes are required. This event is open to guests 21 and older only.
