El Paso County Sheriff’s investigators have arrested a man and woman who are suspected of more than 20 business burglaries in the Black Forest area.

Hunter Cody Shackelford, 23, and Kylie Jo Mardon, 22, were arrested Thursday. They are also suspects in three burglaries in the Cimmaron Hills area, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Since Sept. 22, authorities have investigated burglaries that occurred at business suites in the 12600 and 11500 blocks of Black Forest Road, the 6800 block of Silver Pond Heights and one burglary in the 6900 block of Shoup Road. The investigation also identified similar burglaries in the 7300 block of McClain Point, 500 block of Hathaway Drive, and 700 block of Valley Street in the Cimarron Hills area, according to the release.

Shackelford was booked on one count of second-degree burglary concerning theft of prescription drugs and multiple counts of second-degree burglary, according to the release.

Shackelford is being held on a $10,000 bond.

Mardon was booked on two counts of giving false information to a pawn broker and posted a $1,000 bond, the release states.

Additional charges are anticipated, according to authorities.
