DENVER—Authorities have released the name of a man accused of shooting the manager of a Denver retirement home before turning the gun on himself.
The Denver medical examiner’s office says 65-year-old Bennie Mendez died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police say Mendez, who lived at the complex called Metro Manor, shot and critically wounded the manager Thursday before killing himself. Mendez’ relatives told The Denver Post ( ) he had issues with staff because he did not like them going into his room.
Police spokeswoman Raquel Lopez declined to release the manager’s name.
