COLORADO SPRINGS — A single-car crash near Hartsel over the weekend claimed the life of a Colorado Springs woman, Sonia Seremet, who is the wife of the Air Force Academy’s men’s lacrosse coach Eric Seremet, the mother of two young children and a former first-grade teacher at Prairie Hills Elementary School.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, Seremet, 37, died from injuries she sustained when the vehicle she was traveling in with her husband and their daughters, Emelia, 4, and Anabel, 2, drifted off the right side of Colorado 9 and rolled, ejecting her upon impact. The wreck happened Saturday afternoon about three miles north of Hartsel, state patrol said.

The family was airlifted to St. Anthony’s Central Hospital in Lakewood, where she was pronounced dead. Eric Seremet and the two girls sustained minor injuries and were being treated as precautionary measures. Officials at St. Anthony’s confirmed Eric Seremet, 43, was in fair condition.
