In the early 2000s, seemed like a little fad rock band that invaded the U.S. with a not so serious band name. Fast forward seven years and with the band’s fifth album “AM,” the surly Brits have flexed their muscles and decided that they’re for real and not going anywhere.
Wednesday night saw Arctic Monkeys throw down an all out guitar blitzkrieg on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” with two monster hits off of “AM.” Starting off with “Do I Wanna Know,” the band nailed the falsetto backing vocals that made the new album. Thick and crunchy, the band moved into “R U Mine” and nailed the strange transitions and vocal phrasing. Arctic Monkeys have come a long way since the tawdry smash single, “I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor.”
