Facebook users faced a problem Monday morning trying to post on the social media website.
The site wasn’t allowing many users to update their status, post comments, send messages or post photos. Users were also unable to “Like” posts.
Users were getting a message: “There was a problem updating your status. Please try again in a few minutes.”
The culprit was some servicing to the system being done by Facebook technicians, the company said.
“Earlier this morning, while performing some network maintenance, we experienced an issue that prevented some users from posting to Facebook for a brief period of time,” a Facebook spokesman said in an e-mail. “We resolved the issue quickly, and we are now back to 100%. We’re sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused.”
