Interview with Drusilla Fife
How did you get involved in this business?
I started my business in Las Vegas in 2011 when my husband had hurt himself and needed a natural way to help with the pain all day while working. I made him a massage oil that was a mixture of carrier oils and essential oils, and it kept him pill-free all day. From there, I started making natural products as people requested them.
What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
I think what separates my business from others is that I make every single product I sell. Most spa and beauty companies are backed by large corporations. I create every recipe I use. I do all of my own product testing. I make the products, jar them, create and label the products, as well as take all of my own product photos and do my own advertisement. I think the other thing that separates me from other natural companies is that I hold true to the natural part of my name. I research product ingredients and go out of my way to make sure that I am using the safest and most natural ingredients I can get
What do you like best about your line of work?
I have to split my two loves of my work. I love that I get to be as creative as I can, from the the product to the packaging. I get to use my love for crafting skills everyday, while being an out-of-the-box thinker. Yet the other part of my love for this business is that I get to meet so many people. Every client I have ever met loves to share with me something about their own life.
What is your business’ biggest challenge?
I would say I have found getting my name and product out to the public has been my hardest challenge. I know once people try my product they will love it, but getting people to believe in it and try it can be the challenge
Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
The biggest surprise to people is that I do my business myself. People are shocked to hear that there is no corporation behind me. The first question I always get is, “Who are you a consultant for?” When they hear that I do every single aspect of this business myself, they are pretty shocked.
